Firefly. It’s a space opera. One part sci-fi, one part western. All parts awesome.

Kaylee was the ship’s engineer/mechanic. She was a bit girl-next-door, a bit unassumingly sexy, a bit ship’s counselor (when Rev. Book wasn’t there), and a total jalop, like hammerhead mentioned. She never encountered something mechanical that she couldn't tinker with. She was friendly, endlessly cheerful, and exceptionally competent. Definitely someone you'd want on your side.

Yes! My wife wants to name my Miata Kaylee, I talked her into just getting Serenity license plates with a “You can’t take the sky from me” frame, perfect for a Miata :)

Coincidentally, I’ve been on a Firefly re-watching binge this past week, and on a second time through I feel like a lot of it doesn’t quite hold up as well as it did the first time.

That said, I still love it. Given one more season or two, it might have matured a bit. There were a lot of story lines and characters that needed more development - Kaylee foremost among them.

I’m Binge re watching too. The trick with firefly...like any over celebrated show...is to watch it for what it is, not for what the internet makes of it.

Lots of hype but in the end it’s just a good show.
